Outdoor furniture is often overlooked when it comes to restoration. However it's almost always made of solid wood (veneers won't last outside) so can generally be returned to a decent state, even after years of weathering and very poor maintenance, like the ones seen in the pictures.

Because this sort of furniture is generally made of solid wood, it's much cheaper to restore than to replace. This set of Iroko chairs are of a high build quality, but have been neglected and very badly re-finished in the past. To hide the weather marks and stains, a thick, dark, paint like finish has been applied, which has made the furniture darker and has peeled badly. This type of maintenance doesn't fix the problems, it just hides them.

To re-finish these items properly, we stripped them of their old finish, bleached out all of the stains and weather marks then finished them with a good quality Danish Oil. This will protect them properly from the weather and is very easy to maintain (every couple of years, a quick coat of oil, will make sure they stay in top condition).

They look like a new set of chairs.
