Examples of Paleamber's work

This section is a demonstration of furniture restoration in progress. Each phase describes the work needed and the methods used to complete this project:

Phase i

The Walnut drawer unit displayed on the right has very clearly sustained damage - the top surface's finish has been ruined by water and heat (notice the circular marks from cups placed on the surface) and over time the body has been scratched and bruised. The back panel has shrunk and has slipped in its frame.

Unfortunately many would discard this as a ruined piece of furniture. On closer inspection though, it is essentially the finish that is damaged and not the wood itself. The wood is still perfectly sound.

In a relatively short process, this drawer unit can be restored to it's original state. This process is demonstrated in the next phases.
